At Dan's, we do offer two different vintage specifications for the wine available in-store and for delivery. These are Vintage Specific and Non-Vintage Specific.
Vintage-Specific wines include the vintage in the product title and are grouped under separate bar-codes and item numbers throughout our system, allowing us to track the amount of a particular vintage in stock, and ensure that this is delivered as requested. One such example of this is the St Hugo Shiraz 2012, which can be found at https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_479937/st-hugo-shiraz-2012. As this is listed with an identified vintage in the product title, we are able to ensure this vintage is delivered as ordered.
However, Non-Vintage Specific wines are unfortunately supplied to us with the same bar-codes and are listed in our system and on our website without a vintage in the title. As these products sell at differing rates, across different locations it is extremely difficult to track which vintage is in-stock at any one time, or how much is remaining. As such, these products are advertised with the notation that 'Vintages may vary from store to store and when delivered. Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is displayed, however, variations can occur'. An example of this is the Heartland Shiraz, of which we have various vintages in-stock. Being unable to differentiate, we would be unable to guarantee a vintage for delivery. We do make every effort to ensure the current vintage displayed on the product page is accurate, however, as across our stores multiple vintages are still available in limited numbers, this has not yet been updated to include more recent deliveries.
I hope this clears up any confusion, likewise, if you would like to arrange a return or require any assistance in locating a particular vintage which is not listed as a Vintage Specific product, please contact our Customer Service Team via the Contact Us form providing details of your order and one of our agents will be able to check-in with stores individually and find out which is available for you.
